Dark Wolves
These are a specialist corps of Guardia, a kind of snatch squad, whose purpose is to track down runaway Bestia and return them to their establishment.
Etymology
The name Redentores comes from the Spanish for "Redeemer".
Runagate is sixteenth-century variant of "renegade" and means a vagabond, fugitive, or renegade.
Appearance
The corps dress in black cloaks and tunics :
- to differentiate them from other Guardia
- as camouflage whilst tracking
- to appear more threatening and intimidating
Notes
Their official name is Redentores but both they and others know them as Dark wolves because of their dark uniforms and the persistence in tracking (like the animals).
The missing Bestia are known as Runagates. It is considered irrelevant whether the Bestia have actually fled, been kidnapped or have just got lost. If they are absent, they are Runagates (although their punishment may vary depending on the cause of their absence).
