The Spanish settlers entered Altierra in the year 1 (Earth year 1585) by passing through the Tierrapuerta on Alta. This was 177 years after the English settlers arrived although only six years in Earth time.
Language
[edit]When they first arrived, the settlers would speak only Spanish, refusing to use English with the existing English settlers unless absolutely necessary. However, they soon began to use English for convenience until, eventually, they spoke only that language, forgetting their native language. Spanish remained in the names of people, places, routines, etc.
The Spanish used in naming became simplified over time and with the influence of English. Adjectives did not necessarily agree with the genders, and the letter "ň" became either a plain "n" or "ni".
