Socorra is a Sacerdotisa Venerada at Rocosa, the deputy to Alta Sacerdotisa Jesenia. She is the first Priestess to interrogate Meg Maddison when the girl is captured.

Appearance

Socorra is an older Priestess with a stern, dignified presence. In the image-based interpretation, she has a pale, composed face, a high elaborate hairstyle, and a dark hooded robe trimmed in green, which marks her rank and gives her a severe, ceremonial look. Her features are controlled rather than expressive, and her posture suggests authority, intelligence and restraint. Socorra is intelligent, thoughtful and politically important. She is a Sacerdotisa Venerada and serves as one of Jesenia’s closest and most trusted advisers. Unlike many of the more rigid figures around her, she is capable of careful reasoning and seems genuinely interested in uncovering the truth about the portal and the worlds connected to it.

She is not soft, but she is perceptive and more measured than Laritza. Socorra is the one who sifts through records, recognises patterns, and helps Jesenia interpret what the archive materials may mean. She takes the portal seriously as a matter of state and religion, understanding both its danger and its significance. Her curiosity is scholarly as well as practical, and she seems to enjoy solving problems by evidence rather than by force alone.

Socorra also has a hint of restraint and humanity that makes her stand out. Jesenia places considerable trust in her, even allowing moments of private conversation that feel more relaxed than standard priestly interaction. She is obedient to authority, but she is not merely a passive tool; she is trusted because she is competent, discreet and capable of independent thought within limits. Her role is essential to Jesenia’s growing understanding of the portal and the threat from the other world.
