Casa de Formación

The Casa de Formación or Bestia training school is where Bestia are both brought up from birth, and taught to be Slaves.

Etymology

The name means the "house of training".

Locations

There are two Casa de Formación on Isla Arbojan and Veridia. Because Alta has a smaller population of Bestia, they are raised and trained in the Cregan itself which is large enough to accommodate them.

• Sometria is the school on Isla Arbojan. It is situated in the highlands in the south.

• xxx is the school on Veridia.

Layout

Although the two schools differ a little because of their locations, they have the same general layout. There is a large central courtyard with the tutors' quarters and entrance at one end, and the staff buildings (such as kitchens) at the other. On either side are the areas for the Novices, split so that the girls and boys are separated and do not mix. These areas are built around smaller courtyards and include halls, temples, refectories, dormitories and instruction rooms.

Novices

The Bestia students are known as novices and progress through different stages:

Birth: Children are rarely born at the school. The pregnant Bestia will normally give birth at her Cregan (or other establishment) and raise the child until it has weaned (about one year old).

Pre-school: The child is then taken to the pre-school building at the school for early training until the age of five.

Main school: From five to fifteen, the Bestia is raised at the school. Sometimes they may leave at fourteen if they are suitable or in demand.

They dress in similar ways to standard Bestia except that the chemises are thicker (because of the colder locations), they wear boots instead of sandals, and the belt is a white rope, rather than leather.

Tutors

Each school is controlled by two Priestesses but they do not teach or give out punishment. (They only step in to end it so that they appear beneficial and caring.) The tutors are Handmaidens and high-ranking Bestia Fiel (who act as assistants). There is one male teacher, the Iniciador (“initiator”), who is there to prepare the Bestia for their use in pleasuring.

Appearance
The Handmaidens are slightly different from those found in Cregans. Their robes are green-grey, rather than simple grey, and they carry straps rather than switches because they are dealing with children and punish more often.

Titles
The Handmaidens are addressed as Doña. The Bestia assistants are addressed as Maestra and the Inciador as Maestro (he is not the same rank as the Handmaidens because he is male).

Curriculum

1. Physical Training
   1. Endurance drills (long hours of standing, carrying loads, kneeling)
   2. Correct posture for servitude (bowing, kneeling, standing still, etc.).
   3. Household labour: cleaning, cooking, carrying water, farm tasks.

1. Practical Education
   1. Language: how to address masters correctly, courtly speech vs. silence.
   2. Etiquette: how to serve at table, walk behind superiors, etc.
   3. Specialised service (scribes, concubines, guards, attendants).

1. Religious/Ideological Indoctrination
   1. Prayers affirming their low place in the order of things.
   2. Memorisation of sacred texts justifying slavery.
   3. Ritualised obedience drills (call-and-response chants: “Who do you serve?” “Only my mistress!”).

1. Psychological Conditioning
   1. Reinforcement of identity as Bestia (sub-human, property).
   2. Forced to wait with food before eating like a dog.
   3. Lessons in humility: ritual confessions, punishments for pride.
   4. Erasure of personal family identity (renaming, replacing with numbers or titles).

The Letanía de las Bestia

The Letanía de las Bestia or the "Litany of the Slaves" is a series of five verses that all Bestia must learn to perfection.

I have no will.

Discipline

Discipline can combine harshness with ritual formality:

• Silence Hours — enforced mute periods where failure means punishment.
• The Cinto (Belt/Whip) — corporal punishment delivered with ceremony.
• The Yugo (Yoke) — disobedient Bestia forced to wear a wooden yoke as humiliation.
• Shaving/Branding — marks of shame or discipline.
• Isolation — being placed in a dark, bare cell to “meditate on obedience”.
• Communal Punishment — if one fails, all are punished (building group conformity).
• Communal Punishment — a miscreant may be punished by his/her peers.
• Ceremonial Kneeling — hours on cold stone floors.

But not all punishments need to be physical — some could be psychological, like:

• Loss of food.
• Removal of bedding.
• Being ignored by teachers (erasing their presence).

Positions

Agacharse (“crouch”) Agacharse is the position a Bestia takes up for a quick punishment. They raise their chemise (males lower their breeches), bend over and grasp their ankles. The teacher then applies strokes to their bottom. It is not a stable position so is only used for a few quick strokes. For a longer punishment, the Bestia would lie on or over a punishment bench.

Sumisa (“submission”) A position used in various situations, such as before instruction, or during chanting. Kneeling down, sitting on the lower legs. Back is straight, head lowered. Hands are placed on the thighs. The legs are together.

Castigo (“punishment”) The position used when awaiting punishment (and sometimes as a punishment). Similar to the sumisa but with the legs spread slightly, the hands clasped behind the head, the head looking up.

• The entire day is ritualised: the bell controls life, not the self.
• Food is deliberately meagre to keep them weak but functional.
• Confession and communal penance break solidarity, ensuring no one hides faults.
• Over time, the schedule erases individuality and replaces it with ritualised obedience.

Other Notes

Most Bestia are born into servitude – that is, their mother was a Bestia herself. With all the pleasuring that female slaves do, it is not uncommon. Occasionally an outsider will become a Bestia. This is normally limited to young children, under the age of seven or eight. This may be because they have become orphans, or they have a history of disobedience. Older people rarely become Bestia as they will be too set in their ways, and have a sense of freedom.
