The Snow Beyond the Wall is the first novel concerning Altierra and follows the story of the Maddison siblings from the time they enter Altierra until they return from Earth, deciding to remain there.

There are three versions:

Full version with chapters on the Maddisons' lives at Elisal.
Shorter version for publication.
Adult version with extra text.
