English: Recruit
A Peón is an untrained foot soldiers. There is no training establishment for Guardia: new recruits are placed among trained troopers to learn their trade. They are considered Soldado when their commander believes them suitable.
Etymology
[edit]The name is the direct Spanish word for "foot soldier".
Appearance
[edit]The Peón has no identifying insignia to differentiate them from Soldados. As their training is among qualified Guardia, everyone will know their identity.
Notes
[edit]Before being able to work in a Cregan, a Guardia needs to go through the Ceremony of Purification. This is usually when they are a Peón, but it could apply to any rank.
