A Suboficiale (NCO), the sergeant is the direct link between officers and the enlisted men.

The name is the direct Spanish word for "sergeant".

The sargento wears a wide metal band on each wrist.

Commands: 8–25 troops (sección or section), which consists of 2–3 escuadras.
