Temple

Temples can refer to both the star-like rooms where worship is undertaken (known as the Sacrario or a larger structure incorporating the Sacrario and its surrounding buildings, known as the Templo. In Cregans and other schools, which do not need the extra buildings, it refers to just the Sacrario.

Layout

Public temples

These are the large buildings found outside Cregans and the schools. They temple itself consists of a hexagonal central block with six radial wings. One wing (the east) is the main entrance although Handmaidens and Priestesses have separate entrances. The other five wings are dedicated to one of the Pantheon, with Alturión's wing being in the west.

In the centre of the central block is a golden Divarquía. It is forbidden for anyone - even Priestesses - to stand upon this, on pain of death.

Private temples

While public temples are open to many different people, the private temples in Cregans and schools are usually used by one group. Each Cregan has:

• Great temple for situations where different castes worship
• The Priestesses' temple
• The Handmaidens' temple
• The Guardia temple
• The Bestia temple
• The High Priestess's personal temple
• On Alta, the Arch Priestess's personal temple

There is no specific design to private temples. The personal temples are often no more than simple rooms while the great temple is more elaborate. The only common factor is a window in the shape of the Divarquía.
